Obviedades não óbvias da educação: aprendizagem valorizada e enviesada
Resumo
A educação formal foi, aos poucos, se tornando processo organizado em estágios formalizados, também virando, em parte, compulsória, tamanha a importância atribuída à escola. Entre nós é compulsória na idade de 4 a 17 anos (desde o pré-escolar até ao Ensino Médio – EM). A etapa mais importante, porém, sendo a inicial (educação infantil – EI), deveria incluir creche ou jardim de infância, se não compulsoriamente, pelo menos para as famílias que demandam. Essa é questão que vai muito além do compromisso educacional, atingindo o direito de a criança se desenvolver holisticamente, em especial nos casos em que as condições de desenvolvimento são adversas (populações marginalizadas). O fato de que muitas crianças têm infância marginalizada prejudica o futuro do país irreversivelmente, não só porque o mau desenvolvimento vai refletir em gastos curativos com saúde e outros gastos sociais e econômicos, mas porque o potencial educacional é totalmente desperdiçado, como é quando quase ninguém aprende matemática no fim do EM. A situação em que vivemos no país é, objetivamente, de desperdício quase total dos investimentos, à medida que aprendizagem é excepcional, na média nacional. Quando apenas 12% dos adultos são “proficientes” (digamos, “sabem pensar”) o que resta da escola é uma mixaria gritante.Referências
